The beauty buys worth timing for Black Friday are the expensive ones you'd keep for years, like a good curling wand or hair dryer, and the staples you'd buy again anyway. Everything here comes from our own researched guides, grouped by what it's for, with one line on why it's worth grabbing at a discount. We can't see Amazon's prices, so there are no prices on this page: check each one, and use the price-history tip below before you buy.

How we chose these
Every product below is already a pick in one of our full guides, where you'll find who it suits, the ingredients and the trade-offs. We didn't add anything just because it might be marked down. If something isn't discounted when you look, it's still the one we'd choose, and the linked guide explains why.
A quick rule of thumb: hair tools and splurge skincare are where a discount makes the biggest difference. Drugstore staples are worth stocking up on only if you already know they suit you.
Hair tools
Heated tools last for years, cost the most, and are the purchases most people put off. That makes them the first thing to check on Black Friday.
ghd Curve Creative Curl Wand. The top wand in our curling iron guide for fine hair. ghd says it holds 365°F across the whole barrel, which is moderate heat, and Reviewed named it its best overall curling iron or wand. There's no heat dial, and ghd now also sells a newer Chronos version, so check which model you're buying.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. The splurge pick in our products for frizzy hair guide, and NBC Select's best hair dryer overall. It's ionic, comes with five attachments including a diffuser, and is a true splurge, which is exactly why it's worth waiting to buy. Dyson also sells a newer Supersonic Nural, so check the model name.

T3 SinglePass Curl X. A ceramic barrel with nine heat settings, according to T3, so there's room to find the lowest heat that still curls your hair. The 6.5-inch barrel is long, and NBC Select says it may be hard to use on short hair.

TYMO CurlGo. A cordless, rotating curler that winds the hair for you, good for travel and touch-ups. On its current page TYMO lists a 320°F setting for fine hair. Amazon's review summary calls out short battery life as the most common complaint, and there's a learning curve.

Hair care worth stocking up on
Salon-brand shampoos and treatments are a good Black Friday buy if you already use them, because you'll go through them anyway.
Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin Riche. Our splurge pick for very dry hair in the dry hair shampoo guide. The 500 ml bottle can be refilled with a pouch, so a discount on the big bottle goes further. It isn't sulfate-free, and fine hair may prefer the lighter Bain Satin.

Olaplex Nº.4P Purple Toning Shampoo. Our pick for bleached blonde in the purple shampoo guide. You set the strength with time, from one to five minutes. Who What Wear notes it may be drying on some hair, so follow it with conditioner.

Moroccanoil Treatment Light. The lighter version of the classic oil, made for fine or light-colored hair. It's still an oil: start with one pump on fine hair. If your hair is thick or curly, Moroccanoil itself suggests the Original.

Color Wow Money Mist. An ultralight leave-in spray from our leave-in conditioner guide for fine hair, which Color Wow says is also a heat protectant. Who What Wear says it may not work as well on curls and coils.

Skincare staples
These are the moisturizers we'd restock without thinking. A big tub at a discount is a quiet win.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. Three ceramides, hyaluronic acid and petrolatum in a rich cream, per CeraVe, and TODAY's best overall moisturizer to use with retinol. See our moisturizer to use with retinol guide. It comes in a tub, not a pump, and it's too rich for oily skin.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer. The top pick in our fragrance-free moisturizer guide: rich enough for dry skin but light enough to sit under sunscreen. There's an SPF 30 version with almost the same name, so check the box for "UV" if that's the one you want.

Vanicream Moisturizing Cream. A ten-ingredient, fragrance-free cream for very dry, tight-feeling skin. It's very thick and has no ceramides, as Vanicream's own FAQ says.

Splurge skincare
If there's a cream you've wanted but couldn't justify, Black Friday is when to check it.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. Three ceramides and five plant oils, according to Drunk Elephant, with no fragrance or essential oils. Who What Wear warns it may be too thick for oily or combination skin.

Makeup and gift sets
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. The top pick in our setting spray guide. Yahoo's Marie Lodi named it best overall after trying more than 20 sprays in hot weather. It's scented, so skip it if fragrance bothers your skin. On amazon.com we saw it more easily in gift sets than as a single bottle, which makes it an easy present.

How to tell a real Black Friday discount
A crossed-out "was" price doesn't prove much. Some prices creep up in the weeks before Black Friday, so the markdown looks bigger than it is. Here's a two-minute check:
- Look at the price history. Free price trackers such as Keepa and CamelCamelCamel chart an Amazon product's price over months. If the Black Friday price matches what it cost in September, it isn't a real discount.
- Check the exact product. Brands often sell an older and a newer model side by side (the ghd Curve and Dyson Supersonic above both have newer versions), and sizes vary. Make sure the listing is the one our guide recommends.
- Check the seller. On the product page, see who ships and sells it. For hair tools, buying from the brand or Amazon itself makes warranty claims simpler.
- Check the expiry date on skincare when it arrives, especially if you stocked up.
- Set a price alert in Keepa or CamelCamelCamel for anything you'd buy at the right price, and let it tell you when to look.
When Amazon's Black Friday starts
Amazon doesn't wait for Friday. In 2025, its US Black Friday event started on Thursday, November 20, more than a week before Black Friday itself, and ran through Cyber Monday on December 1. Amazon usually announces its dates a few weeks ahead, so expect a similar pattern this year: Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30.
Beauty gift ideas
Skincare is personal, and a cream that suits one person can bother another. Safer gifts are the ones that don't depend on skin type:
- For someone who curls their hair: the TYMO CurlGo is small enough to travel with, and the ghd Curve is the splurge.
- For someone who blow-dries every day: the Dyson Supersonic.
- For a makeup lover: a Charlotte Tilbury setting spray gift set.
- For a blonde: the Olaplex Nº.4P, if you know they use purple shampoo.
Hair tools make the best "big" gift because they don't depend on skin, but check the heat settings suit their hair. Our curling iron guide explains what to look for.
FAQs
Is Black Friday a good time to buy hair tools?
Often, yes. Hair tools are some of the most expensive beauty buys, so a discount makes a real difference. Check the price history and the model name before you buy.
Should I stock up on skincare on Black Friday?
Only on products you already use and like. A big jar of something that doesn't suit your skin isn't a bargain, and skincare doesn't last forever once it's open.
Why don't you show prices?
We can't see Amazon's live prices, and they change many times a day, so any number we printed would soon be wrong. Each link takes you to Amazon, where you'll see the current price.

Buy what you'd want anyway, check the price history, and let Black Friday take a little off.
